Singing Mamas has been working in partnership with the Oliver Fisher Neonatal Unit for the past 3 years, taking groups of singers on the wards and singing for parents and babies. Their aim is to help ease stress, if only for a few moments.
We know that singing is powerful, particularly if you are singing in a group. Singing helps to reduce stress, increases happy hormones, helps to relax tight muscles and makes us breathe much more deeply. Group singing is also brilliant for making connections - we hope that you will enjoy meeting other mums with similar experiences. We hope that mums with babies currently in the wards may join us too.
